Mombasa with children

Haller Park is the easier stop with children. Fort Jesus has open ramparts and needs a hand on small children. Child tickets differ by site: Fort Jesus, Haller Park, and the marine park each publish their own rate.

Choosing the stop

For a family that wants animals without a long game drive, book Haller Park. The paths are simpler than the fort walls. For a family that wants the fort, go in the morning, carry water, and keep children away from the outer edge of the ramparts. Old Town lanes are interesting and narrow. A pushchair is hard work there.

Tickets

Fort Jesus charges KSh 300 for a citizen child and USD 8 for a child from outside Africa, on the 7 May 2026 scale. Haller Park's visit page describes its child rate as ages 3 to 12: KSh 500 for a Kenya citizen child and KSh 1,500 for a non-East African resident child on the 1 June 2026 card. Marine park child rates are on the marine park page. Send ages in the WhatsApp chat so the quote and the tickets match.
