Malindi from Mombasa
Malindi is about 120 km north of Mombasa, about 2.5 hours on the coast road when traffic is ordinary. The town has its own marine park and old waterfront. The transfer is private and quoted on WhatsApp.
Checked 19 October 2026. The 120 km and 2.5 hour figures are for the coast road. Afternoon traffic into Mombasa can add time on the way back.
What the day can hold
The photograph at the top is Mombasa, the city the trip starts from. Malindi is a town, not a single beach gate. People come for the waterfront, the Vasco da Gama pillar, and Malindi Marine Park. The park ticket is a Kenya Wildlife Service charge. It is not inside the vehicle quote unless the reply names it.
A there-and-back day from Mombasa is long. Sleeping in Malindi, or in Watamu on the way, is the calmer plan. Lamu starts from this stretch of coast if you are going on by road, and it still needs the boat at the end.
